Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer in Basingstoke to maintain and repair production line machinery. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, supporting production performance, and ensuring safety and reliability on shift.

You will lead the shift team, handle site duties as needed, and maintain accurate maintenance records. FMCG experience and fault-finding skills are essential for this hands‑on position.

Qualifications

• FMCG manufacturing experience is essential.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
• Electrical experience or qualifications suitable for fault-finding on circuits up to 415V.
• Ability to troubleshoot and apply practical solutions; strong planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair production line machinery and plant equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults quickly and safely.
• Support smooth production and minimise downtime.
• Investigate recurring issues and identify root causes.
• Lead handovers, communicate issues, and maintain records using IT systems.
• Provide technical leadership within the shift team and act as Site Duty Manager when required.
