Placements24 is seeking a highly strategic Commercial Director to oversee business development and sales operations in Randburg, Gauteng. This senior role requires leading sales, marketing and BD teams, driving revenue growth and building key client relationships while managing budgets and P&L.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial roles within FMCG, a strong grasp of distribution channels, and exceptional negotiation and leadership skills. Some remote work flexibility is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position within FMCG.
• Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market share expansion.
• Strong understanding of sales, marketing and distribution channels in FMCG.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies to achieve sales and revenue targets.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the sales, marketing, and business development teams.
• Identify and pursue new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Manage key client relationships and negotiate high-value contracts.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to inform strategies.
• Oversee the P&L for the commercial division and ensure profitable growth.
• Develop and manage the commercial budget effectively.
• Collaborate with supply chain and operations to ensure delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Represent the company at industry events and build brand visibility.
• Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and team performance.
