Job summary

Smart Solutions in Rugby is recruiting for an FLT Operative / Production Operative. The role involves 50% FLT driving and 50% manual production work, moving materials and supporting production daily tasks.

Hours are 7:00am–7:00pm with a 4 on/4 off pattern and occasional overtime paid at time and a half. A valid FLT licence and safety focus are essential for this physically active position.

FLT Operative / Production Operative

Location: Rugby, CV21
Pay: £14.01 per hour
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off
Working Hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm
Overtime: Available when required, paid at time and a half

We are currently recruiting for an experienced FLT Operative / Production Operative to join our team in Rugby.

This is a hands‑on role, split approximately 50% FLT operation and 50% manual production work. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely moving materials around the site while also supporting day‑to‑day production activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate baling machines safely and efficiently
• Operate FLT equipment to move materials across the site
• Follow all health and safety procedures and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
• Report hazards, unsafe behaviours or potential risks to management
• Support production targets by ensuring materials are handled accurately and on time
• Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance tasks
• Undertake manual work as required
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Follow company procedures and site rules at all times

Requirements

• Valid external FLT licence is essential
• Previous FLT and production experience is desirable
• Ability to carry out manual work as part of the role
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Comfortable working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

The Role

This is a physically active position, with the role split approximately 50% FLT driving and 50% manual work. You will need to be comfortable working in a production environment and carrying out a range of duties throughout your shift.

Overtime: Time and a half when additional cover is required
