GXO Northampton is recruiting for full-time, permanent FLT Drivers to join our Swan Valley site. From loading and unloading to put-away, replenishment and picking support, you’ll help keep products moving safely and efficiently in a fast-paced distribution centre.

Qualifications

• Previous FLT operating experience in warehouse or logistics is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate MHE equipment safely to support warehouse operations.
• Assist goods-in, goods-out and stock control using WMS, including unloading, put-away, replenishment, picking and dispatch.
• Work efficiently to meet daily productivity, service and accuracy targets in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized workspace and report hazards or improvement opportunities.

Job description

Do you want to be part of something brand new right from day one? Do you have experience operating FLT equipment, or are you looking to build a long-term career in warehousing and logistics? Would you enjoy helping shape a new operation from the ground up and setting the standard for how things are done going forward?

Here at GXO Northampton, we are currently recruiting for full-time, permanent FLT Drivers to join our team in Swan Valley, supporting one of our new business wins! From unloading and receiving stock to put-away, replenishment and supporting picking operations, you'll play a key role in keeping products moving safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse while helping to deliver an excellent service to our customer.

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, contracted to 40 hours per week. We are currently recruiting for the following shift patterns:

• Fixed AM shift: Week 1 – Monday to Friday / Week 2 – Sunday to Thursday, covering the hours of 06:00 to 14:00
• Fixed PM shift pattern: Week 1 – Monday to Friday / Week 2 – Sunday to Thursday, covering the hours of 14:00 to 22:00
• Fixed Night shift: Week 1 – Monday to Friday / Week 2 – Sunday to Thursday, covering the hours of 22:00 to 06:00

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Operate MHE equipment safely and efficiently to support warehouse operations, ensuring all activities are completed in line with site procedures and safety standards
• Support goods-in, goods-out and stock control activities using the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including unloading, put‑away, replenishment, picking and dispatch operations
• Work efficiently and flexibly to achieve daily productivity, service and accuracy targets, both independently and as part of a team within a fast‑paced distribution centre environment
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area by following all Health & Safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures, while proactively reporting hazards and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous FLT operating experience within warehouse or logistics environment is essential
• A self‑motivated and reliable approach, with the ability to work honestly and with integrity at all times
• The ability to work safely and accurately, following processes and SOPs with a strong attention to detail and a quality‑focused mindset
• Strong communication skills and a professional, positive attitude, with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team
