Job summary

GXO is recruiting for full-time, permanent Warehouse Operatives at our Swan Valley site in Northampton. You will be involved in all aspects of warehouse operations from goods-in to dispatch, on a 40-hour weekly contract with fixed AM, fixed PM or fixed Night shifts.

We offer competitive hourly rates (£13.20 for AM/PM shifts and £15.30 for night shifts), 33 days leave, dental plans, pension, GP service, employee assistance program, and access to GXO University for career development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-paced operational or warehouse environment is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated and reliable with integrity.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Support goods-in, goods-out and stock control activities using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Pick and prepare stock safely and accurately across health, beauty, household and retail products.
  • Work efficiently to meet daily productivity, service and accuracy targets within a fast-paced distribution centre.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area by following Health & Safety procedures and SOPs.

Job description

Here at GXO Northampton, we are currently recruiting for full-time, permanent Warehouse Operatives to join our team in Swan Valley, supporting one of our new business wins! From receiving and storing products to picking, packing, and dispatching orders you will be involved in all aspects of our warehouse operations.

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, contracted to 40 hours per week. We are currently recruiting for the following shift patterns:

  • Fixed AM shift: Week 1 - Monday to Friday / Week 2 - Sunday to Thursday, covering the hours of 06:00 to 14:00
  • Fixed PM shift: Week 1 - Monday to Friday / Week 2 - Sunday to Thursday, covering the hours of 14:00 to 22:00
  • Fixed Nightshift: Week 1 - Monday to Friday / Week 2 - Sunday to Thursday, covering the hours of 22:00 to 06:00

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Support goods-in, goods-out and stock control activities using the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including receiving deliveries, replenishment, order fulfilment and dispatch operations
  • Pick and prepare stock safely and accurately, ensuring health, beauty, household and retail products are handled with care and attention to detail
  • Work efficiently and flexibly to achieve daily productivity, service and accuracy targets, both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced distribution centre environment
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area by following all Health & Safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures, while proactively reporting hazards and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experience of working in a fast paced, operational or warehouse environment advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided
  • A self-motivated and reliable approach, with the ability to work honestly and with integrity at all times
  • The ability to work safely and accurately, following processes and SOPs with a strong attention to detail and a quality focused mindset
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, positive attitude, with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team
