Job summary

CDI - Russell Taylor is seeking a skilled FLT Counterbalance operative to join our warehouse team in Runcorn. The successful candidate will safely operate counterbalance forklifts, move materials, and support goods management to keep logistics moving. You will work 07:00-19:00 on a 4-on-4-off rota, with training Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00.

Pay is £13.82 per hour. A valid forklift licence and warehouse experience are essential; desirable experience in shipping/receiving and using warehouse

Qualifications

• Valid in-date forklift licence (counterbalance) required.
• Experience operating counterbalance forklifts in a warehouse.
• Knowledge of materials handling and safety protocols.
• Able to perform basic maths for counts and measurements.
• Able to lift heavy loads during shift.
• Experience in shipping/receiving desirable.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in record keeping.

Responsibilities

Overview

Duties

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including checking deliveries and preparing items for dispatch
• Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
• Perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance checks on forklifts and other machinery as needed
• Handle materials carefully, ensuring proper stacking and storage to optimise space utilisation
• Support with stock organisation, picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment
• Conduct safety inspections before use of equipment and report any faults or hazards immediately
• Assist in general warehouse duties to ensure a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications

• A valid, in-date and accredited forklift licence is essential
• Proven experience operating forklift trucks (counterbalance) within a warehouse setting
• Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety protocols
• Ability to perform basic maths accurately for inventory counts and measurements
• Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
• Previous experience in shipping & receiving operations is desirable
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and stock management
• Basic knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures
