Job summary

The Best Connection Group is recruiting for FLT Counterbalance Drivers in Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne. This ongoing temporary assignment offers competitive hourly pay with parity after 12 weeks and the possibility of enhanced rates for night shifts and Sundays.

Holders of valid FLT Counterbalance licences with at least 12 months of relevant experience are invited to apply. The role requires flexibility to work day, back, and night shifts on a rotating rota across a busy site.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience operating FLT Counterbalance trucks.
• Valid, in-date FLT Counterbalance licences, RTITB accredited.
• Ability to work day, back and night shifts on a rotating rota.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling duties.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT).
• Transporting products and materials throughout the manufacturing and warehouse areas.
• Working on the factory floor and operating a baler machine as required.
• Removing and disposing of waste safely and efficiently.
• Supporting general warehouse, manufacturing and production operations.
• Following site health and safety policies and safe operating procedures.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Carrying out manual handling tasks when required.

Job Title: FLT Counterbalance

Pay Rate: £12.71-£16.14 per hour, depending on shift and parity

Job Type: Ongoing Temporary Assignment

Shifts: Days, back shifts, nights and occasional weekends

FLT Counterbalance Drivers in Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne, to join a busy manufacturing and warehouse operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced forklift truck operators looking for ongoing work, competitive hourly pay, varied shift patterns and the potential to earn enhanced rates after 12 weeks.

If you hold valid, in-date FLT Counterbalance and have at least one year of relevant experience and are flexible to work rotating shifts, we want to hear from you!

FLT Driver Pay Rates

First 12 weeks - pre-parity pay:

• Day shift: £12.71 per hour
• Back shift: £13.71 per hour
• Night shift: £13.71 per hour

After 12 weeks worked - parity pay:

• Day shift: £14.52 per hour
• Back shift: £14.52 per hour
• Night shift: £16.14 per hour
• Sundays: Double time, subject to the applicable shift and pay arrangements

Maximise your earnings: Night shift drivers can earn £16.14 per hour after 12 weeks worked, with double-time Sunday pay available.

Shift Patterns

The role involves working a rotating shift pattern, which may include:

• Day shifts
• Back shifts
• Night shifts

Flexibility across all shifts is essential. Candidates must be comfortable working both days and nights as required by the site rota.

FLT Driver Job Responsibilities

As an FLT Driver, your duties will include:

To be considered for these FLT Driver vacancies, you must have:

12 months' experience operating FLT Counterbalance trucks.

• Valid, in-date FLT Counterbalance licences, NOT in house licences must be RTITB accredited.
• The ability to work day, back and night shifts on a rotating rota.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling duties.
• The ability to work independently and safely without constant supervision.
• A reliable, punctual and professional attitude.
• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.

Please note: Candidates must hold the required independent FLT Counterbalance licences and have relevant practical experience.
