Job summary

The NICI Newquay is seeking an exceptional Assistant General Manager to lead Amalfi’s and the restaurant team on the floor, delivering polished, guest‑focussed service. You will partner with the Restaurant General Manager to uphold luxury standards and drive exceptional guest experiences across breakfast, lunch, dinner and private dining.

As a hands-on leader, you will coach the team, manage operations during peak trading periods and contribute to the pre-opening plans for Tucker Rocks scheduled

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory or management roles within a quality restaurant, luxury hotel or premium hospitality environment.
• Proven track record of delivering excellent guest service and maintaining high standards.
• Strong hands-on restaurant management experience, leading busy services.
• Ability to motivate, coach and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong food and beverage knowledge, with an appreciation of quality ingredients, wines and cocktails.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor with a hands-on approach to daily restaurant operations.
• Set and maintain exceptional service standards, energy, and presentation across shifts.
• Coach and develop the restaurant team, manage onboarding and ongoing training.
• Collaborate with kitchen and hotel management to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Drive commercial performance through upselling, cost control and labour management.
