Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to act as the primary technical authority on the shop floor, guiding quality from the first winding through FAT.

You will coach teams, monitor process stability, and lead root-cause investigations to minimize waste and maximize reliability of critical HVDC transformers. The role requires hands-on factory experience and a data-driven mindset, with proficiency in FMEA, SPC, and MSA.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering and hands-on experience in heavy electrical manufacturing.
• Proficient in FMEA, SPC, and MSA; able to read complex drawings.
• Able to coach shop-floor teams and drive a quality-first culture.
• Data-driven and proactive in reducing waste and improving FPY.

Responsibilities

• Own the floor as the primary quality lead for all production stages from winding to FAT.
• Maintain Quality Control Plans and ensure processes meet the Zero-Defect standard.
• Lead 8D and 5-Why investigations to uncover root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Coach shop-floor teams to foster quality ownership and precision.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma projects to reduce scrap and boost FPY.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to build quality in, not inspect in.
