Job summary

South West Recruitment Ltd seeks an Experienced Floor Layer to join the Council project in Bournemouth, Dorset. The role focuses on installing specialist flooring systems in level access bathrooms and wet rooms, with emphasis on safety flooring, cap & cove finishes and high-quality workmanship.

The successful candidate will work 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday, with a van provided, iPad used for reporting, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension and life cover.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence; van provided.
• Hardworking, enthusiastic and keen to learn with good people skills.
• Able to work on own initiative and manage workload effectively.
• Experience in occupied domestic properties desirable.
• Experience with disability adaptations and level access shower room projects advantageous.
• Work from an iPad; inspections, certification and emails via planner.
• Uniform and PPE provided; no unspent convictions.
• This position is subject to a Basic DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Install safety flooring in domestic and commercial settings.
• Accurately fit and finish cap and cove flooring systems.
• Perform hot air welding for floor joints and seams.
• Install flooring in level access shower rooms and wet rooms.
• Consider falls and gradients; ensure waterproofing where applicable.
