Job summary

South West Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Floor Layer for a local Council project in Bournemouth, Dorset. The role focuses on bathroom adaptations, safety flooring, and level access shower rooms, with work across domestic properties.

The successful candidate will install safety flooring, vinyl, and cap & cove systems, collaborating with plumbers and other trades. A van, iPad/phone, and DBS check are part of the package; DBS required. 39 hours/week, 9am–5pm. Salary £35k per year (PAYE).

Qualifications

• Experience in installation of safety flooring in commercial and domestic projects.
• Ability to fit and finish cap and cove flooring systems.
• Skilled in hot air welding and floor joint welding techniques.
• Experience fitting flooring in level access shower rooms and wet rooms.

Responsibilities

• Install safety flooring to commercial and domestic projects.
• Fit cap and cove systems and ensure clean finish.
• Measure, cut and install sheet vinyl flooring with precision.
• Prepare subfloors with latex screed and smoothing compounds.
