Job summary

Novus Property Solutions is seeking a Floor Layer to join our Social Housing Voids and Responsive Repairs division. You’ll cover Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire and occasionally Cumbria, with a standard 39‑hour week, on‑call rota, and a supportive planning team.

You will measure, order and fit vinyl, carpet, and related flooring, working on void properties and some responsive repairs. A full UK driving licence and relevant training are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor laying and related tasks (measuring, ordering and fitting vinyl, carpet and carpet tiles; cap and cove; self-level and screeding).
• Social Housing voids/tenanted property experience is essential.
• Required certifications: Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness, and Manual Handling training (refresher available).
• Full UK driving licence and DBS check are required.

Responsibilities

• Lays floors in social housing void properties and assist with on‑call responsive repairs.
• Works from job tickets or handheld device connected to a live system.
• Manages daily workload and delivers outstanding customer service in homeowners’ premises.

Location: Site based covering Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire and on occasion Cumbria. Standard Hours Monday- Friday 39 hours plus out of hours on call.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Floor Layer to join Novus Property Solutions, Responsive Repairs and Voids division, providing high-quality floor laying within Social Housing void properties and covering on call responsive repairs when requried

An Outline Of Your Responsibilities And Experience

• Applications are welcome from experienced candidates that have a Floor Laying background. Works including but not limited to; measuring, ordering and fitting various flooring types of vinyl, carpet, carpet tiles, including cap and cove. Self-level and screeding
• Working on Void properties in the main with some Responsive Repairs in tenanted properties
• Social Housing/domestic experience is essential.
• Working from job tickets or a handheld device on a daily basis linked to a live shared system.
• Trusted to manage your own day and workload effectively
• Always delivering an outstanding service to customers with the understanding that you are working in their homes
• Following Novus’ exemplary Health and Safety policies and standards
• Floor laying qualifications are advantageous
• Candidates will also require Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness and Manual Handling training. Where these certifications have expired, refresher training can be provided by Novus.
• Full UK driving license is required.
• The role will also require a DBS check to be completed
