Job summary

Mears Group is seeking a skilled Floor Layer in Milton Keynes to join our maintenance team. You’ll install and repair flooring across residential properties, ensuring durable finishes and compliance with safety standards.

This hands-on role requires precision, independence, and strong knowledge of flooring materials. A full UK driving licence and own tools are required, with a company van provided after probation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a floor layer across domestic and commercial settings.
• Skilled in sheet vinyl and tile work with cap and cove installations.
• Ability to prepare subfloors and use self-levelling compounds.

Responsibilities

• Install and renew sheet vinyl flooring with smooth seams.
• Lay ceramic and other tiles, including grouting and sealing.
• Fit cap and cove wet room floors and ensure waterproofing.
• Prepare subfloors, apply self-levelling compounds, and screed.
• Log progress using a PDA system and communicate with tenants.
