Job summary

Mears Group is seeking an experienced Floor Layer for Brent, London. You will install and repair flooring across residential properties, ensuring high standards and safety. This hands‑on role requires precision and the ability to work independently within a team.

The position involves vinyl, tile and cap‑and‑cove installations, subfloor prep and level surfacing. A full UK driving licence and own tools are essential, with a Monday–Friday roster and a company van provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a floor layer across domestic and commercial settings.
• Experience with sheet vinyl, tile work, cap and cove installations, and floor preparation.
• Experience using self‑levelling compounds and screed.

Responsibilities

• Install and renew sheet vinyl flooring with bubble‑free finishes and sealed seams.
• Lay ceramic and other tiles, including cutting, alignment, grouting and sealing.
• Fit cap and cove wet room floors with seamless, waterproof surfaces.
• Prepare subfloors by cleaning, repairing and priming for adhesion.
• Apply self‑levelling compounds and screed for smooth bases.
• Log work progress and communicate with tenants and clients.
