Job summary

Mears Group in Milton Keynes is recruiting a Floor Layer to install and repair flooring across residential properties in partnership with Milton Keynes Council. The role focuses on vinyl, tile work, and floor preparation with a strong emphasis on precision and safety.

You will work both independently and as part of a maintenance team, delivering high-quality finishes and adhering to health and safety standards while using a company van and fuel card provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a floor layer across domestic and commercial settings.
• Skilled in sheet vinyl, tile work and floor preparation.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install and renew sheet vinyl flooring with sealed seams.
• Lay ceramic and tile types, including cutting and grouting.
• Fit cap and cove wet room floors with seamless, waterproof surfaces.
• Prepare subfloors, apply levelling compounds, and screed for flat bases.
• Log progress and communicate with tenants and clients; ensure safety.
