Job summary

Amey in Scotland is seeking a Flood Modeller/Engineer to join the Flooding and Water Management team. You will work on preliminary and detailed modelling of flood schemes, support tender documents, and contribute to project delivery from design through completion.

You should have a degree in an appropriate subject, post-qualification flood experience, and familiarity with Infoworks ICM, FloodModeller or HEC-RAS. A pathway toward Chartered Engineer status is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in a relevant subject with practical flood modelling exposure.
• Post-qualification experience in flood management project design and supervision.
• Familiarity with Infoworks ICM, FloodModeller or HEC-RAS modelling tools.
• Incorporated Engineer status or progression towards Chartered Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Undertake preliminary and detailed modelling and design of Flood Management projects.
• Prepare modelling reports including GIS mapping and contract specifications.
• Provide supervision and management of contracts for minor and major projects.
• Undertake feasibility, outline and detailed design studies.
• Contribute to tender documents for procurements and manage flood schemes.
• Procure surveys and other field works.
