Job summary

Amey is hiring a Flood Modeller/Engineer to join the Flooding and Water Management team in Scotland. You will work from early design through to final delivery on a range of flood schemes, supporting modellers and leads across projects linked to NI and UK contracts.

You will gain exposure to governance procedures, sustainability-focused design, and a clear path toward professional qualifications, with opportunities for development and training within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in an appropriate subject (Bachelors or Masters).
• Post-qualification experience in flood management project design and supervision.
• Experience with Infoworks ICM, FloodModeller or HEC-RAS modelling techniques.
• Incorporated Engineer status or progress towards Chartered Engineer status.
• Understand governance procedures in a consulting engineering environment.
• Developing expertise in the relevant technical field and producing sound engineering solutions.
• Interest or experience in delivering environmentally sustainable works.
• Experience with health, safety and welfare tasks on projects.

Responsibilities

• Undertake modelling and design of flood management projects.
• Prepare modelling reports including GIS mapping and bills of quantities.
• Provide supervision and management of contracts.
• Undertake feasibility and detailed design studies.
• Contribute to tender documents for procurements.
• Support programme management of flood schemes and procure field surveys.
