Job summary

Autoskills-Uk is seeking a Floating Vehicle Technician to provide servicing, diagnostics and repairs across multiple North West dealership workshops. You will work to high manufacturer standards and support diverse teams.

The role offers a day-to-day variety, manufacturer training, a pension, employee discounts and a staff car scheme. You will cover Blackpool, Southport, Morecambe and Kendal with a flexible, full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Strong servicing, maintenance and diagnostic skills.
• Willingness to travel between dealership sites.
• EV/Hybrid qualification desirable but not essential.
• MOT Tester Licence desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair work on a range of vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
• Complete repairs efficiently with high-quality workmanship.
• Conduct vehicle road tests where required.
• Ensure all work complies with manufacturer and health & safety standards.
• Complete workshop documentation and job cards accurately.
• Handle vehicle parts correctly and maintain workshop standards.
• Support different dealership teams while delivering customer service.
• Travel between dealership locations across the North West as required.

FLOATING VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

Location: Covering Blackpool, Southport, Morecambe & Kendal
Salary: OTE £30,000 - £50,000 (Basic Salary Dependent on Experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm | 40 Hours Per Week | Saturday Morning Rota (Paid at Time and a Half)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

THE ROLE

As a Floating Vehicle Technician, you'll provide technical support across multiple dealership workshops, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance to the highest manufacturer standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a range of vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults accurately
• Completing repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
• Conducting vehicle road tests where required
• Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer and health & safety standards
• Accurately completing workshop documentation and job cards
• Handling vehicle parts correctly and maintaining workshop standards
• Supporting different dealership teams while delivering exceptional customer service
• Travelling between dealership locations across the North West as required

ABOUT YOU

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician within the automotive industry
• Strong servicing, maintenance, and diagnostic skills
• EV/Hybrid qualification desirable but not essential
• MOT Tester Licence desirable but not essential
• Willingness to travel between dealership sites
• A positive, flexible, and team-focused attitude
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
