Job summary

Bawso Ltd in Swansea seeks a role-focused worker to support women affected by domestic abuse, within a community development framework. You will work with women in homes or temporary accommodation to prevent homelessness, develop tenancy skills and promote wellbeing.

This role is restricted to female applicants under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1. The position offers training and flexible work options to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Role focused on working with women affected by domestic abuse and housing-related support.
• Experience in community development and safeguarding is advantageous.

Job description

Bawso is the lead organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation and forced marriage.

Role:

The aim is to work within a community development framework; the worker will be responsible for working with women where domestic abuse is a significant support need and or require housing related support. To enable women to live more independent life based on real choices about their future. The role will be varied and involve working with vulnerable people in their homes or temporary accommodation to prevent homelessness and develop skills needed to maintain their tenancies, change negative behaviour, maintain their health and wellbeing, progress to independent living and make appropriate decisions for the future.

This role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1)
