Job summary

BAWSO is seeking a dedicated childcare practitioner to provide a happy, safe and enjoyable experience for developing children and young people in Wales, ensuring high quality childcare to meet educational, social and cultural needs of each child. You will support children who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse and plan stimulating, safe play opportunities.

This role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification (or above) in childcare, working with young people, or working with families and children.
  • Support work experience is desirable for this role

Job description

Bawso is the lead organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation and forced marriage.

Role:

To ensure that BAWSO provides a happy, safe and enjoyable experience for developing children and young people, ensuring a high quality of childcare at all times to meet the educational, social and cultural needs of individual children.

The post holder will support children who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse and plan and provide stimulating, safe, and appropriate play opportunities.

This role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1)

Qualifications and knowledge:

  • NVQLevel 3 qualification (or above) in childcare, working with young people, or working with families and children.
  • Support work experience is desirable for this role
