Job summary

Discovery is hiring a Floating Support Worker to cover Minehead, Williton and the surrounding areas. You’ll backfill in our homes, offering flexible support where needed and acting as the first choice alternative to agency staff.

Join a fully trained floating team delivering person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities and autism. You’ll build relationships, support daily routines, finances and meals, enable independence, and work across different homes, with full training provided

Qualifications

• Experience in a care setting is essential.
• Full training provided.
• Must commute to the home you are working in (up to 1 hour) and have access to a car with business insurance.

This is not your typical support worker role. As part of our fully trained, specialist floating team, you’ll:

• Provide reliable, consistent backfillto our core homes
• Be the first choice alternative to agency staff
• Help reduce pressure on teams, giving managers the space to focus on quality and growth
• Experience real variety—working in one home for a period, or across different homes week to week

You might support a service through a staffing gap, help stabilise a team, or assist during a period of change. Every placement has purpose—and your impact is immediate.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives by:
