Salford Council, based at Deans Primary School in Salford, is seeking a Floating General Assistant to support the Cook Supervisor in delivering healthy, nutritious meals to pupils. The role covers setting up dining rooms, washing up, serving food and some basic food preparation.

You will need to be reliable, detail‑oriented, flexible and organised to handle a varied, term‑time schedule. The post is permanent and part‑time, with DBS clearance required and pay aligned with local scales.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in catering or school meals is advantageous.
• Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to a busy dining environment.

BASED AT THE DEANS PRIMARY SCHOOL

Working Hours: 10 hours per week, Mon Fri 11.30am-1.30pm Contract Type: Permanent, Term time only

As a Floating General Assistant you will assist the Cook Supervisor in providing healthy, nutritious meals for the children of Salford. Duties may include setting up of dining rooms, washing up, serving of food and some basic food preparation.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
