Acron Aviation Academy in Crawley is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to design and develop mechanical and electrical hardware for flight simulators. You will contribute to high-performance hardware capable of withstanding aerospace environments.

The role offers hybrid working in Greater London and opportunities to lead engineering initiatives, with a focus on quality, reliability, and collaboration across software, systems, and project management teams.

Qualifications

• Hardware engineering experience with mechanical/electrical systems development.
• Ability to perform hand calculations and use analytical design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to the design and development of mechanical and electrical hardware solutions for flight simulators.
• Drive development of hardware capabilities focusing on quality and reliability in aerospace environments.
• Oversee or support creation of detailed specifications, schematics, and models for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Manage projects or work within cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure hardware components comply with aerospace standards and safety requirements.
• Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware systems.
• Lead or support evaluation of new technologies and materials to drive innovation.
• Provide technical leadership or mentoring to junior engineers.
• Engage with suppliers to manage sourcing and integration of components.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and meeting customer expectations.
