Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Community Library Assistant for Wisbech Library. The role is Saturdays, 6 hours per week (9:30am–4:00pm) with a half-hour unpaid lunch. Travel to other Fenland libraries, especially Whittlesey, may be required.

Training will be provided and you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors. We value community engagement and offer opportunities to contribute to events and services, with a focus on excellent customer service and teamwork in a diverse

Responsibilities

• Handle enquiries and assist customers in-library.
• Support customers in accessing online services and promote library offerings.
• Assist with library events such as Library Presents, Lego, Craft Club and Storytime.
• Be willing to learn library systems; IT literacy is essential.
