Job summary

CER Education are seeking committed Teaching Assistants to join primary schools across Formby and nearby areas of Liverpool from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity for anyone who wants to make a practical difference to pupils’ learning and development.

Whether you already have classroom experience or are looking to take your first step into education, CER can offer flexible day-to-day work or longer placements to match your availability and career plans.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school, nursery, care, coaching or comparable setting would be an advantage.
• A relevant qualification in childcare, education or supporting teaching and learning is desirable, but not essential.
• A current enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new application through CER.
• Right to work in the UK and professional references.

Responsibilities

• Prepare classroom resources and learning activities, helping to maintain a welcoming, well-organised environment for every pupil.
• Provide focused support to individual children and small groups so they can participate fully and develop their understanding.
• Assist the teacher with lessons, classroom routines, transitions between activities and the safe supervision of pupils.
• Deliver sensitive one-to-one support for pupils with SEND or other additional needs, encouraging participation, confidence and growing independence.
