Job summary

CER Education Recruitment is recruiting teaching assistants to support children in primary schools across the Sefton area, including KS1 and KS2, with day-to-day supply and long-term roles starting September 2026.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, assist with lesson preparation, monitor pupil progress, and help maintain a positive, inclusive classroom. A DBS on the live update service is required, or you can apply through CER.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a teaching assistant role or working with children.
• An enhanced DBS on the live update service is required, or willingness to apply for one through CER.
• A relevant qualification in education is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom, working 1:1 or with small groups to deliver engaging learning activities.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities, helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where children can learn and thrive.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to class teachers.
• Promote positive behaviors and help manage classroom routines, including supervising activities and break times.
