Job summary

Hays Education is supporting friendly primary schools across Sheldon and the wider B26 area as they prepare for the new academic year. We are looking for caring, dependable Teaching Assistants who can become a valued part of school life from September 2026.

You will work alongside the class teacher to help pupils feel supported, included and ready to learn. Your day may involve supporting learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, guiding small groups, and providing individual support as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting.
• Genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow and feel confident.
• Communicate well and work positively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support learning and classroom activities across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Guide small groups through focused tasks.
• Provide individual support to pupils who need extra encouragement.
• Help children develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
• Contribute to a calm, welcoming and inclusive classroom.
• Support classroom organisation and everyday routines.
