Job summary

Hays Education is supporting friendly primary schools across Sheldon and the wider B26 area as they prepare for the new academic year. We are looking for caring, dependable Teaching Assistants who can become a valued part of school life from September 2026.

You will work alongside the class teacher to help pupils feel supported, included and ready to learn. Your day may involve supporting learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, guiding small groups, and providing individual support as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting.
• Genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow and feel confident.
• Communicate well and work positively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support learning and classroom activities across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

Your new role

Full-time and part-time options are available, including long-term assignments and roles with the potential to become permanent.

What you'll need to succeed

Schools are particularly interested in people who bring the right attitude as well as relevant experience. You should:

• Have supported children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting
• Genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow and feel confident
• Communicate well and work positively as part of a team
• Be dependable, flexible and ready to use your initiative
• Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 TA, CACHE, NVQ or equivalent qualification
