Job summary

Aspire People are expanding our pool of Teaching Assistants to support partnership schools across North Staffordshire with ad hoc, daily, short-term and long-term assignments.

Whether you are looking for regular work or to pick up assignments when available, we offer a flexible approach to supply work across middle and secondary settings with a local consultant to help you along the way.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar education/support role.
• Experience within a school, youth work, coaching, mentoring or childcare environment.
• A patient, supportive and approachable manner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Good classroom management skills.
• A reliable and professional attitude.
• The flexibility to work across North Staffordshire.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to teachers and pupils.
• Work with individual pupils or small groups.
• Support pupils with their learning and development.
• Help maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs where appropriate.
• Assist with classroom activities and preparation.
• Help pupils stay focused and engaged.
• Provide general pastoral and learning support.
