Job summary

Thrive Education in Stroud is seeking enthusiastic Supply Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of schools and educational settings. Roles are flexible, with options for regular supply work, a few days a week, or arrangements that fit around other commitments.

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you could support pupils 1:1 or in small groups, assist teachers with activities, and help create a positive learning environment across primary, secondary and specialist settings.

Qualifications

• Have experience working with children or young people.
• Have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role.
• Are patient, enthusiastic and adaptable.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils.
• Are confident working as part of a team.
• Have a genuine passion for supporting children and their education.
• Experience working in a school is beneficial, but we also welcome candidates with relevant experience in SEND, childcare, care, youth work or similar environments.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning.
• Supporting children with SEND and additional needs.
• Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence.
• Supporting pupils with their behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Adapting quickly to different schools, classrooms and pupil needs.
