Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support regional primary care clinics, including GP environments, across locations. The role covers routine clinical tasks, patient-facing duties and general clinic support to help deliver safe, efficient patient care.

You will perform observations, assist with basic procedures, ECGs and health checks, and contribute to smooth patient flow. DBS clearance is required and flexibility for weekday, evening or weekend shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Healthcare Assistant experience in GP, community or NHS settings.
• Confident in routine patient observations.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to adapt to new clinics and workflows.
• Enhanced DBS required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine clinical observations.
• Support treatment room tasks and basic procedures.
• Perform ECGs and routine health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy where trained.
• Record information accurately in clinical systems.
• Provide general assistance to nursing and clinical teams.
• Help maintain smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
