Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join our flexible short-term and longer-term supply options across King's Lynn and surrounding areas. You will support pupils with SEND one-to-one and in small groups, assist with differentiated activities, and help implement IEPs and behaviour strategies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
• Adaptability across different classrooms and school environments
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
• Willingness to undertake additional training and development

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
• Help implement individual education plans and behaviour strategies
• Support pupils with personal care needs where required
• Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate with staff
• Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
