Job summary

Academics is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant in Erdington (B23). The role offers flexibility with full-time and part-time options and involves supporting pupils with SEND in a SEN college setting. Start ASAP and work closely with the SENDCO and teaching staff to deliver personalised learning plans.

Ideal candidates have prior SEND experience, an Enhanced DBS on the update service, and relevant qualifications or healthcare background. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service).
• Qualifications or experience in psychology or healthcare backgrounds are welcome.
• Willingness to complete relevant training when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging 1-to-1 sessions for pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils' learning, communication and social development inside and outside the classroom.
• Work with the SENDCO and teacher to deliver tailored learning plans.
• May assist with personal care, requiring patience and compassion.
