Job summary

Randstad Education near Corby is seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND across specialist schools and provisions near Corby and North Northamptonshire. We are experiencing high demand for supportive colleagues with experience or passion for working with children and young people with SEND.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or adults with SEND, complex needs, or vulnerable behaviours.
• Patient, calm, nurturing approach with emotional resilience and confidence.
• Knowledge of alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS, visual timetables) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with ASC, MLD/SLD, SEMH, or physical and sensory needs.
• Work 1:1 or in small groups, adapting activities to EHCPs.
• Create a safe, structured, low-arousal learning environment.
• Assist with emotional regulation and de-escalation techniques.
• Support personal care, mobility, or therapy needs when required (training provided).
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and external therapists to achieve targets.
