Job summary

Aspire People is actively seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support children across Abercarn and surrounding areas in South Wales. This role suits experienced assistants or those with relevant child-focused experience aiming to develop a career in education.

Role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils stay engaged, supporting positive behaviour, and collaborating with teaching staff to meet individual needs while building strong relationships with pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people essential.
• Teaching Assistant or classroom experience desirable.
• Experience supporting ALN/SEN pupils beneficial.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, patient and reliable approach.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS for Children on the DBS Update Service.
• EWC registration or willingness to register.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with learning and development.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Helping pupils stay engaged and focused.
• Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Working alongside teaching staff to meet individual needs.
• Building positive and professional relationships with pupils.
