Step Teachers Ltd is seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join flexible short-term and long-term opportunities in Tottenham. You will support pupils across a range of subjects, helping them access learning and succeed in lessons.

Ideal candidates have experience in a secondary school, understand strategies for mixed-ability and SEND learners, and can build supportive relationships. You will work with teachers, promote positive behaviour, and participate in safeguarding and training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting pupils in a secondary school setting.
• Understanding of strategies for supporting mixed-ability and SEND learners.
• Calm, patient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Confident assisting learning across subjects and key stages.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils across different subjects.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, and accessible learning activities.
• Support pupils with additional needs to ensure full participation in lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour and follow school behaviour expectations.
• Help prepare resources and assist with general classroom organisation.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and good study habits.
• Monitor pupil progress and share relevant observations with teaching staff.
• Support wider school duties and routines during longer-term placements.
