Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking Resource Workers to join the Disabled Children’s & Family Support Team on a flexible Staff Bank basis. Shifts vary countywide, including weekdays, weekends, mornings and evenings, with ranges from 2–3 hours up to 6 hours.

You’ll support disabled children and young people in homes, communities and activity sessions to boost independence and social opportunities. We offer flexible hours, a valuable experience, and potential progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people.
• Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People is required.
• Full driving licence and access to a car are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people in their homes and communities, as well as at activity-based sessions and social groups.
• Help them participate in indoor, outdoor and community activities to build confidence and independence.
• Cover shifts flexibly including weekdays, weekends, mornings and evenings.
