Job summary

Springwell Leeds Academy is seeking a relief catering assistant to support a friendly kitchen team in delivering wholesome meals to students. The role is based on a casual, zero-hours contract with ample flexibility to fit around other commitments.

Training will be provided from day one, with opportunities to develop in Food Safety and First Aid as needed. A reliable, team-focused individual who communicates well and remains adaptable will thrive in this busy educational setting.

Qualifications

• No experience needed; full training is provided.
• No qualifications required; reliability, teamwork and a strong work ethic are valued.
• Training in Food Safety or First Aid will be offered.
• Zero-hours relief shift work provides flexible working opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Catering Lead in serving wholesome meals to young people.
• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious food, accommodating dietary needs.
• Keep dining areas, kitchens and equipment clean and tidy.
• Safely operate catering equipment and follow food safety, hygiene and COSHH guidelines.
• Help with stock control, menu support and basic catering IT systems.
• Maintain high safety and safeguarding standards for pupils and staff.
