Job summary

CrossReach in Scotland is seeking compassionate relief workers to support older people in our care homes. You will work with residents, families and colleagues, delivering personal care, meals, and activities with kindness and dignity.

No formal experience is required, but PVG checks and SSSC registration are needed; SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare is preferred. We offer full induction and flexible relief shifts to fit around your other commitments.

Qualifications

• Caring, reliable and adaptable
• Comfortable working as part of a team and able to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues
• PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration required or in progress, SVQ Level 3 preferred

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care and daily living activities
• Assist with meals and encourage good nutrition and hydration
• Promote independence, choice and wellbeing
• Encourage participation in activities and social opportunities
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues
• Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support
• Maintain accurate records and follow care procedures and best practice
