Job summary

Class Act is sourcing a Primary Teaching Assistant for flexible day-to-day supply across a range of primary settings in London. The role supports learning, well-being, and pupil engagement under teacher direction, with opportunities to gain experience across EYFS to KS2.

Ideal candidates are patient, proactive, and adaptable, with strong teamwork and safeguarding commitment. Weekly PAYE arrangements and access to exclusive deals are included as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Primary Teaching Assistant role or in a primary school setting.
• Positive, patient and supportive approach to working with children.
• Confidence supporting pupils across different age groups and abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and reliability when working on supply.
• Proactive and adaptable attitude to classroom support.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Willingness to follow guidance and adapt quickly to new school environments.
• Enthusiasm for supporting learning as a Primary Teaching Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils’ learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 under the direction of the class teacher.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress.
• Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and daily routines.
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
• Support pupils with additional needs where required.
• Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and engagement.
• Represent Step Teachers professionally while working as a Primary Teaching Assistant.
