Job summary

Teacher Active is seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Newark and surrounding areas. The role offers day-to-day supply, short-term and longer-term placements across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 with flexible options depending on experience and availability.

You will help pupils with learning, development and wellbeing in the classroom, and collaborate with teachers to foster a positive learning environment. Competitive day rates apply, with 24/7 consultant support from Teacher Active.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, nursery or educational setting.
• Good understanding of the UK Primary Curriculum.
• Confidence supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Positive, patient and proactive approach.
• Flexibility and reliability when working across different schools.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Work with small groups or provide 1:1 support.
• Help children develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Provide additional encouragement to pupils who need extra support.
• Work alongside teachers to create a positive learning environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
