Job summary

Strata Consulting in Bournemouth is seeking a Contract Structural Engineer for a flexible, part-time role. You will handle residential projects from concept to completion, performing structural calculations and producing drawings, with autonomy to manage the work locally.

The position suits an experienced engineer who can work independently, with site surveys and client liaison as part of the workflow; the team is small, collaborative, and based at the Bournemouth office.

Qualifications

• Proven experience on residential structural projects.
• Ability to produce calculations independently.
• Experience creating technical drawings (hand or software).
• Familiar with UK building regulations and standards.
• Experience with alterations, extensions and loft conversions.
• Strong communication with clients and team.
• Experience with site visits, surveys, and inspections is a plus.
• Part-time, self-motivated with good time management.
• Chartered with IStructE or ICE preferred but not essential.
• MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Manage residential projects from concept to completion.
