Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced School Support Worker in Aylesbury to support learners with autism and additional needs in a specialist setting. The role offers part-time, flexible, ad-hoc hours with immediate start and pay of £14.50–£15.00 per hour dependent on experience.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist non-verbal learners with communication and learning tasks, and may give personal care where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with autism or other additional needs.
• Experience in school, care or specialist settings is preferred.
• Willingness to provide personal and intimate care.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to learners with autism and additional needs.
• Supporting non-verbal learners with communication, sensory activities and learning tasks.
• Providing personal and intimate care where required.
• Following individual learning and care plans.
• Encouraging learners to participate positively in their education and daily routines.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
• Helping to maintain a calm, safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
