Job summary

Affinity Partnerships are seeking compassionate Autism Support Workers to join a welcoming SEN School. You will work with pupils aged 4-18, assisting in classrooms, supporting personal care, mealtimes and mobility, and collaborating with teachers and therapists to promote independence and positive behaviours.

Successful applicants will undergo safeguarding checks including DBS, and benefit from flexible working opportunities, consultant support and access to CPD courses.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism or SEND is desirable but not essential.
• Patient, caring and enthusiastic approach is required.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism and additional learning needs in the classroom and around the school.
• Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect.
• Support pupils during mealtimes and with moving and handling where necessary.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviours.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff and support safeguarding.
