Job summary

NHFM is seeking a Domestic Assistant at North Tyneside General Hospital in North Tyneside. The role is part-time (22.5 hours per week) with flexible working and shifts between 07:00 and 20:00. The successful candidate will help maintain cleanliness across wards, departments and offices, contributing to safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene and/or Level 1 Food Safety Certificate must be achieved within 6 months of start date
• NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of floor areas as scheduled using vacuuming, mopping and spray cleaning
• Undertake deep cleans in areas where infection is present
• Removal of rubbish including clinical waste to disposal point
• Cleaning of sanitary areas, toilets, sinks, showers and staff changing areas
• Damp dusting of all surfaces, ledges and shelves
• Cleaning of internal glass
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all work areas
• Carry out urgent spot cleaning and spillage
• Participate in training on efficiency, fire drills, hygiene and health and safety
• Any other duties as deemed appropriate
