Job summary

NHFM in Blyth is recruiting two friendly domestic assistants on a part-time basis (16.5 hours and 20 hours per week). Flexible working patterns support NHS services at Blyth Community Hospital. Salary is £25,272 pro rata per annum.

Enhanced pay applies for evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. You will join a small team delivering high cleanliness standards across wards, offices and clinics. Minimum requirements include Basic Food Hygiene or Level 1 Food Safety, NVQ 1/2 or equivalent,

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene/Level 1 Food Safety within 6 months of start.
• NVQ Level 1/2 or equivalent required.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of floor areas as scheduled (vacuuming, mopping, buffing).
• Undertake deep cleans in areas where infection is present.
• Removal of rubbish including domestic and clinical waste to disposal point.
• Cleaning of sanitary areas, toilets, sinks and staff changing areas.
• Damp dusting of all surfaces, ledges and shelves.
• Cleaning of internal glass and maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Carry out spot cleaning and spillage control, as needed.
• Participate in relevant training and other duties as required.
