National Centre for Social Research in West Norfolk is seeking a part-time Field Interviewer to visit people at home and conduct surveys on health, housing and transport. You’ll use a tablet or laptop to guide conversations and capture real-life experiences in Britain.

This is a field role, not a desk job, requiring driving, flexible hours and the ability to handle refusals. You’ll be part of a national social research effort that informs policy and improves lives across the country.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Class 1 Business insurance.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband.
• Laptop or tablet with camera.
• Comfortable using basic technology.
• At least 18 hours available per week.
• Flexibility for weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Visit people in their homes to carry out vital research interviews.
• Guide conversations using a tablet or laptop.
• Capture real-life experiences of daily life in Britain.
