Job summary

National Centre for Social Research in Cambridge is seeking a Field Interviewer for a part-time role. You will visit homes across an assigned area, conduct in-home interviews on topics like health, housing and transport, and record responses using a NatCen device.

The role is travel-based with routes supported by a field manager. You will be trained before working independently, with potential for longer journeys and occasional overnight stays; paid travel time and mileage reimbursement are

Qualifications

• A full UK driving license and access to a car
• Right to work in the UK
• Willingness to complete a DBS check
• Minimum 20 hours availability per week
• Reliable home broadband
• Flexibility to work across weekdays, evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Visit selected addresses to carry out in-home interviews on issues such as health, housing, transport and everyday life
• Use a NatCen device to guide structured interviews and accurately record responses
• Travel with defined fieldwork area and plan routes with support from a field manager
• Be comfortable with travel times and occasional longer journeys or overnight stays
• Engage participants professionally to enable clear and honest sharing of views
