Job summary

N Family Club is seeking a Flexi Chef to cook breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for children across our East London nurseries. You’ll follow nutritionist-designed recipes, cater for allergies and dietary needs, and help maintain high kitchen hygiene and daily paperwork.

As a Flexi Chef, you’ll enjoy flexible hours under a casual 0-hour contract, with opportunities to support multiple nurseries and to mentor apprentices while delivering tasty, healthy meals to young learners.

Qualifications

• Food safety and hygiene Level 2 or higher; Level 3 to be completed during induction.
• Experience in a nursery or school commercial-sized kitchen.
• Experience catering for diverse dietary needs.
• Experience catering for very young children and knowledge of guidelines.
• Experience with Environmental Health inspections.
• Good knowledge of food allergens and child nutrition; ability to manage per-child budgets.

Responsibilities

• Cook fresh meals for children, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
• Follow nutritionist recipes and ensure vitamins and nutrients.
• Cater to dietary needs and age-specific guidelines, prevent cross-contamination.
• Know allergies for each child and adhere to policies.
• Prepare daily lunch and smoothie for nursery team; manage stock and orders.
• Maintain kitchen to a 5-star hygiene rating and complete paperwork.
• Coach and mentor nursery apprentices when required.
• Ensure accurate allergy details and correct portion sizes during mealtimes.
