Job summary

Academics are recruiting a Lunchtime Supervisor to support primary schools across Sheffield. This is a temporary, flexible ongoing supply opportunity for someone who is looking to work during school lunchtimes and gain valuable experience within an education setting.

You will supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground and other areas, fostering positive behaviour and inclusive play in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is desirable.
• A calm, patient and approachable manner.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Ability to work effectively within a school team.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils throughout the lunchtime period
• Encourage positive behaviour and respectful interactions
• Support inclusive games and activities
• Assist younger pupils where appropriate
• Monitor pupils across indoor and outdoor areas
• Deal calmly and appropriately with minor incidents
• Follow school safeguarding and behaviour procedures
